Warm Nights 2012 Is Coming

Holy Trinity Episcopal Church will once again partner with the Holy Trinity Episcopal Day School to host Warm Nights , a hypothermia shelter program in Prince Georges County. Churches and other organizations throughout the County provide shelter for a week at a time for 30 -35 guests during the winter months. Holy Trinity will host this event the week of January 29-February 5.

Those who participated in last year’s Warm Nights program know how rewarding an experience it can be. The Program Committee invites you to be a part of this spiritually important ministry in 2012.

To help or learn more about the program, contact Rod Manning, Holy Trinity Warm Nights Program Coordinator, at
htwarmnightscoordinator@yahoo.com or at (301) 706-0448.

Cemetery Decorations Stored until Advent 2012

Many thanks to Susan Croft, Silvia Evans, Tom Kirby, Arleen Kirtland, Curt Reiber, and Karen Sharp, who, on Thursday, January 5, 2012, the day before Epiphany, removed all the wreaths that parishioners and friends had placed in late November to decorate the historic Cemeteries for Advent and Christmas.

While the group was hard at work “undecorating” the Cemetery, Harold Sandy and Dick Blass were working on the long-term project of laying the stone along the edges of the macadam driveway.

Thanks also to Harold Sandy who, on Sunday, January 1, 2012, helped Karen Sharp remove poinsettias from the Cemetery.

Also, belated thanks go to Curt Reiber and Susan and Jack Croft who decorated the Oden Bowie Cemetery for Advent and Christmas; Susan and Jack removed the wreaths earlier in the first week of January 2012.

Be sure to check the online calendar each week.
